First I read the book called a series of the unfortunate events and the main characters are called sunny, violet, klaus and count olaf.

The series follows the unfortunate lives of the three extremely unlucky Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, trying to get by in their difficult lives and survive the pursuit of their nemesis Count Olaf and his various associates who attempt to steal their inherited fortune.

I enjoyed the book because it shows how the three kids ran out of the house to save their lives.

 I finished my Literacy ch 1.

First i looked around the houes find something differen't we use to make things easier when you are cooking food.

Then i look for the picture online for the can opener and wrote a small process about how to use a can opener.

1. open the can opener with a arm wide enough.

2. Close the arm to make it tight on the can and turn the cutter 

clockwise to get the lid open.

3. Open the lids use the food for cooking.

I in enjoyed literacy ch 1 becaues there are things that can make work easy whille making food.

Problelm Solving

 I finished my probelm sovling with skip counting.

First to make equation we break down the problem.

Melanie worked 7 hours for 4 days.

Next we need to find how many hours did she work in total?

Get the answer, we need to follow skip counting method.

7 hours for 1 day = 7 hours

                    2 day =14 hours

                    3 days = 21 hours

                    4 days =28 hours

7 hours x 4 days = 28 Hours

I realise to find the answer it is important to know times table.

I will need some more time to practice.

Mental Health Challenge

 I finished my work called mental health challenge.I had to ask my dad about his favourite songs were when he was a teenager.

First I asked my dad about his favourite two Scott Stapp and Will Smith.

Afterwards when I asked my dad about his favourite singers I write it down some songs that i normally listen to now days.

 I read the non fiction book called Can The Hulk Lift a Houes.

what's the main topic is superheroes and their strengths.

This tells me everything that always wanted to know about my favourite Super Heroes.

This book also tells you about background about Super Heroes.

Basic Facts Boxes

 I finished my speed demon challenge of addition upto 5.

It took me 3mins and 15s and i scored 100/100.

I think i need to work on addition because its the easiet one and i have to go faster.

Dancing Mat

I completed my can-do activity callled Dance mat typing level 1.  Dance mat help's you get better at typing without looking at the keyborad.

First I open the Dance mat typing it start loading the Dance mat and i chose the home row and i press the space button.

Then I search the google and i set the timer for l5 minutes.

Next I listen to the instructions and put my fingers on the keyborad as shown on screen.  I tried my best to type the correct letters in my typing time.

 

I need impover my fingers up and down to different letters.

For my find facts we had to choose some one or something and find out about it and do a research about it in write about it. 

First  I wanted to choose New Zealand sailor who won 2021 America's cup and his name is Andrew Blair Tuke.

Second I went online to find more about Andrew Blair Tuke.My lntroduction started by writing about when he was born then.We write about him wininng the 2021 America's cup.

Then We searched about five facts on him and wrote it down. 

last We added some photo's we got from wed page's and some videos from youtube.

It was quite enjoyable to read about Andrew Blair Tuke and to know what other work he is involved in.

Book :  Ninja kid 5 ninja clones!

I have just finished reading a book called ''Ninja kid 5 Ninja clones!'

 lllustrated by Anton Emdin.  The story is about two boys Nelson and kenny have been cloned! Robot Nelson and robot Kenny are faster, smarter and better dancers. But when the clones spin way out of control at school camp and real kenny and nelson saves the day by defeating the clones.

I really like the book beacause there was robot involved and it was about two friends trying to be heroes .

Statistics

 This week we learned about statistics and we did our own investigation.

First we collected data on how many blog posts the group wrote in 2021.

Next we made  a pie chart,bar chart and a data chart.

Then we wrote three statements about the blogs. We found the month with the most blog posts is may, because there were no interruptions in this month.

I enjoyed making the graphs and learned the statistics

Compund Sentences

 A compound sentence is two simple sentences stuck together with FANBOYS.

First you need to write a simple sentence. 

Then you need to use a FANBOY and a comma to join up to the simple sentence. A fanboys are for,and,nor,but,or,yet,so.

Lastly you need to write a simple sentence .

An example of a compound sentence is "The people are jumping over the hurdle, landing over the water"

 My group and I did the prototype.We make the party popper

In the beginning, we tested the party popper we made a prototype. We put the glitter and fuzz balls in the cup.

Next we pop the party popper into the cup. We take a pictures of the party popper. We finished the tested of the party popper.

To finish up we put the rudder band to make a party popper We put the rudder band in the cup. We pull it the cup to the rudder band and we can make the party popper

Balance Challenge

This week we are balancing.

  

BaIancing

 Today we Balanced using pieces of equipment.

First we the rugby ball's and balance on one foot and threw the rugby ball to our partner. This was hard because I'm not good at balancing.

Second we tried balancing hockey ball. It was hard to bend fornt leg while keep myself len forward while playing hockey.

 

I thought frisbee will be easy to throw but it was hard to balance myself on one foot was a bit challenging to balance my whole body before throwing the frisbee.

                                                          

after that we tried balancing the basketball but it standing on one leg made it hard to dribble and pass the other partner.

     

Last we tried passing netball with one foot and balancing out whole body on one foot was hard and it made us throw the ball not far.

                                                      

Calendars

Calendares show us the day,week or month. 

There are 12 months in the year ,they are,January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August,September,October,

November,December.

Months have 28, 30 or 31 days.

There are number patterns on a calander by looking for four connecting days for example.

Knowing before and after number sequence and 7 timetables helps us reading a calander.

Effect is what happened. Cause is after what happened.

 I-Analog clock's a piece of technology that help tell time 

M- A clock has three mechanisms.The second hand moves around the clock the fastest.The minute hand is the longest and moves when the second completer one rotation.A full rotation of the minute hand is 1hour. The hour hand moves the slowest and moves between the big numbers.

An analog clock requieas you to look outside to know if it is morning or Afternoon.

We learnt how to use facts and opinions to understand the characters in a book.

First we listened to the book the The Highway Rat. 

Then we wrote the facts that happened in the book for our character. We then used our opinion to explain why the character might have done that.

Last we wrote the adjectives for the opinion to describe the character trait.

I enjoy the fact and opinion about the duck.

Visualisation-Highway Rat

 Visualisation is creating pictures in your head.This helps understand what we read.

Highway Rat is about a Rat who is greedy and steals everyone food.He Learns a lesson and everyone lives happily.

Place Value & Saying Numbers

 Place value is a system that groups numbers based on their size.

The position of a digit determirns it's value.When we say numbers we group then within the same house. For example is 15709 has fifteen thousands,seven hundreds & nine ones.

         

Understanding our base 10 place value system allows us to pronance big numbers properly.It also allows us to identify numbers before and after. 

Mihi Whakatau

 Mihi Whakatau is Maori tern for a formal greeting.

Mihi Whakatau is a traditionally used for welcoming, introductions and openings. It is undertaken by the tangata whenua (local inhabitants).

The Mihi needs to acknowledge the significant aspects to the place. The Maunga (mountain), Awa (river), and Iwi (tribe) are generally used.

Introducing Ingoa (name), Oku tipuna (ancestral place) and where you live is important for the audience to understand the position of the speaker. 

Manuhiri is the term used to describe or group the visitors that are being welcomed.

Being respectful of the land, the people and the purpose of the visit will ensure long lasting relationships and connections.

Fact Find

 I completed a can-do called fact find.

My fact find was about Spider-man. I learnt a lot of new facts about Spider-man.

I know that Spider-man fight bad guys and he saves the day with his webs

I really enjoyed this task it is because you get to find about Spider-man.

 I completed stage 2-3 of my prototec.

I got a score of 100/100.I need to improve my speed.

Next time I will go up to stage 4.

First Mr wong taught us about the main aspects of the Print Desing Rules,colour,layout,text,composition.

Next,I figured out which posters were good and bad with my partners.

 I learned how to write the alphabet,numbers and symbols properly.

I watched a video to show neat handwriting.I wrote the characters neatly into my writing book.

I need to improve all the handwriting and practice more.

AFL Training

 Today we learnt how to play Australian Football League.

First we learnt how to hand pass and drop kick.Coach Mike showed us how to hit the ball.Then we paired up and practised. 

Next he told us how to drop kick the ball. He told us to make a M on the ball. The we practiced in pairs

Lastly we played Octopus and I threw the ball at people using the hand pass.

I enjoyed throwing the ball at people and learning new skills.

LS1's Treaty

Today we learnt about the 3 ps in the Treaty of waitang and how they apply to our learning.

First Mr Ogilvie introduced the Treaty of Waitangi. 

Then in groups we wrote three statements about the 3ps in LS1.

LS1 figured out the 3ps are all connected.After that we used  our group ideas and thought about how they connected to me.

The 3Ps are Protection, Partnership and Participation

 I chose these 3 statements because they will help me be successful with my learning in LS1.

ssr selfie-The Natural World

 This week I read 2 pages of a The Natural World wrote by Jon Richards.

Earth is an ever-changing planet.Deep beneath its crust, churning molten rock pushes and pulls on the surface, creating volcanoes and earthquakes and shaping the land. 

The planet is also home to a vast range of different ecosystems, from the dark ocean depths to lush rain forests and freezing polar ice sheets.

I enjoyed the book because I learned more facts about the earth.

I read the first chapter of Dog Man Lord of the fleas written by Dav Pilkey.

The dog man go to the police.I dislike the character because they made me feel good.

Basic Facts Chart

 My partner and I started by finding number bonds and doubles using blocks.

While finding out some basic facts using blocks, I recorded the results in a spreadsheet.

Next I created a chart by using spreadsheet tricks like copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) and selection dragging to quickly fill in the repeated information.

I learned about maths basic facts. I like using blocks to count.
